Photocopied Cachets

All of the cachets on the covers displayed below were created with the help of very expensive color photocopiers.  I've been surprised by the number and the quality of these photocopied covers.  In my opinion, the beautiful colors that can be obtained with this process rival most cachets printed with a color inkjet printer.

SMB CACHET - STEVEN BRAINERD

This SMB Cachet was created by Steven Brainerd from Tucson AZ.  It is a color photocopy of an ad published in Newsweek magazine for the American Cancer Society.  The images illustrate the proper technique for performing a breast-self-examination.  It is unnumbered.  Steven also has a very nice cover displayed in the Hand-Painted/Hand-Colored Cachets section of this online exhibit.

S & T CACHET - TOM O'HAGAN

This beautiful S & T Cachet was designed by Tom O'Hagan from Silver Spring MD and is number twenty-one of seventy.  It is a color photocopy of early 1900's art by Harrison Fisher, along with appropriate text.  Each color reproduction is copied onto an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet, a template is used to trace an unfolded envelope, hand cut and then folded into an envelope.

PETER McCLURE

....

These three covers were created by Peter McClure from Woodbridge Va.  They are all unnumbered.  The first two floral cachets were created on a color photocopier while the third one was created with a normal black and white copier.
