Gauguin, van Gogh or Ross?

Who did the New York Times recently claim to be the most recognizable painter in the world? Was this painter Paul Gauguin or Vincent van Gogh ? It was neither! Here is a clue - no copies of his artwork are currently on display at the Louvre . That didn't help much did it? Another clue - most of his artwork has a remarkable similarity to the art featured at the "Starving Artist Sales" which seem to pop up weekly at the local Holiday Inn. Give up - it was Bob Ross. Are you at a loss for who Bob Ross was? Well think Mellow Painter with an Afro on Public Television . Now you remember him don't you? Well here's the really bad news - Bob's dead. That's right, he died on the Fourth of July of this year. Other pages which mourn Bob's demise include: Bob Ross Tribute/Memorial Page and Ball State University Daily News' Tribute.
